How ShadowDNS handles data

• Raw DNS exports are processed locally in your browser and are not stored server-side.
• Raw DNS exports are not transmitted to ShadowDNS servers.
• Only generated report data is stored so reports can be viewed later.
• DNS data is not used for AI training or model improvement.
• DNS data is not sold, shared, or provided to third parties.
• Application traffic uses HTTPS/TLS.

Report retention

• Generated reports are stored so they can be viewed through their unique report link.
• Expired reports are no longer accessible through the application.
• You can request earlier removal of a report by emailing hello@shadowdns.org.

Email

Email is optional and never required to view a report. If you leave it blank you can still generate, view, share, and download the report. If you provide one, we store it alongside the report record so we can contact you about early access and your reports. We do not currently send the report itself by email. Reports are viewed in your browser via the shareable link.

Shareable report links

Each generated report gets a non-guessable URL (e.g. /report/<random-id>). Anyone with that link can view the report until it expires. Expired reports are no longer accessible through the application. Treat the link like a password. Share it only with people who should see the report.
